We compare the affective impact of 360° video presented on a head-mounted display versus a desktop screen. Using standardized self-reports of valence/arousal and behavioral indicators, HMD viewing produced stronger arousal and presence while maintaining comparable valence trends; some participants reported mild discomfort with HMDs. The findings clarify modality effects for emotion induction protocols using omnidirectional video.
