We investigate game mechanics to enhance engagement with public art and heritage objects through mobile AR. A comparative field study tests points, quests, and cooperative tasks against a non-gamified baseline while tracking dwell time, learning, and social acceptability. Gamification increases exploration and recall without undermining site etiquette, suggesting design levers for cultural AR experiences.
