Real-time affect detection in virtual reality: a technique based on a three-dimensional model of affect and EEG signals

Abstract

This article introduces a method for detecting affective states in real time within virtual reality environments. Combining EEG signals with a three-dimensional model of affect, the study demonstrates the feasibility of emotion recognition to enhance adaptive VR systems.
