We examine how ambient noise conditions affect presence, performance, workload, and cybersickness during VR tasks. Comparing quiet, moderate, and noisy soundscapes with and without spatialized audio, we find that noise degrades immersion and increases effort, while appropriate audio design mitigates some negative effects. The results inform audio strategies for VR use in real-world environments.
