This study manipulates an AR agent’s personality traits and conversational style (e.g., warmth, dominance, proactivity) to examine effects on social presence, trust, and perceived usefulness. Findings show that agent behaviors aligned with user preferences and task context improve UX and acceptance, while mismatched dominance or intrusiveness can harm perceived rapport. We suggest adaptive agent policies for AR interactions.
