Does Low Quality Audiovisual Content Increase Fatigue of Viewers?

Paper presented at the 4th International Workshop on Perceptual Quality of Systems (PQS 2013), Vienna, Austria
Abstract
This study evaluates viewer fatigue under prolonged exposure to degraded audiovisual material. Using self-reported tiredness, blink-rate metrics, and task performance, we find that lower content quality leads to increased fatigue compared to high-quality baselines. The results highlight fatigue as a relevant user-centric outcome for QoE evaluations.
