Role: Project contributor · Funding: DAAD
International teaching and exchange network spanning Brazil, Japan, Thailand and India, with regional partners in Hamm and Lippstadt.
Role: Subproject lead · Funding: EFRE (EU / State of North Rhine-Westphalia)
Immersive training for theatre technology, a domain where apprentices must learn high-risk rigging and stage-machinery procedures that are expensive and dangerous to practise physically.
Role: Consortium coordinator · Funding: EFRE (EU / State of North Rhine-Westphalia)
XR training and digital twins for critical industries, including wind-turbine maintenance, with five industry and academic partners.
Role: Subproject lead · Funding: ZIM (BMWE)
Contact-free monitoring of vital signs and movement in home care settings, designed so that it neither stigmatises nor burdens the person being monitored.
Role: Subproject lead · Funding: Innovationsprogramm für Geschäftsmodelle und Pionierlösungen (BMWE)
Tooling and business models that let non-specialists create XR events, lowering the entry barrier for cultural institutions and SMEs.
Role: Subproject lead · Funding: ZIM (BMWE)
Augmented reality navigation that adapts its cues, whether visual, spatial-audio or haptic, to the user and the situation, evaluated in outdoor field studies.
Role: Sole applicant · Funding: Training Optimization Programme (German Air Force)
Emergency-procedure training in XR under realistic stress, with physiological measurement of workload and adaptive resilience, a safety-critical test case for these methods.
Role: Sole applicant · Funding: HSHL
Equipment funding for the Body Interaction Lab at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences.
Role: Subproject lead · Funding: HORIZON Action Grant (European Union)
Dynamic and responsible digital twins for extended reality: building twins that stay synchronised with the physical world and are evaluated for user experience, not only for geometric fidelity. Two innovations from this project were recognised as Key Innovator entries on the European Commission's Innovation Radar in 2024.
Role: Consortium coordinator · Funding: mFUND (BMDV)
Predictive maintenance for rail infrastructure, combining sensor-based condition monitoring with user-centred design of the labelling and decision-support interfaces that operators use.

Neurotechnologies for improving intuitive and efficient human–machine interaction. The Bernstein Focus: Neurotechnology Berlin brought together a multidisciplinary faculty to apply insights from basic neuroscience directly to real-world applications, with a focus on non-invasive „brain reading" techniques.
Within it, project A3 „Neuro-Usability": Neurotechnologies for Human-Machine Interaction used biosignal sensors to measure and model aspects of usability: efficiency, satisfaction and joy of use. This is where my psychophysiological measurement approach originates.
