Abstract

We evaluate spatialized audio cues for AR-supported outdoor navigation compared to non-spatial audio and visual-only guidance. Field trials assess route efficiency, situational awareness, workload, and perceived safety. Spatial audio improves turn compliance and reduces visual dependency without increasing distraction, supporting hybrid cue designs for hands-free navigation in real environments.
