User Experience of Reading in Virtual Reality — Finding Values for Text Distance, Size and Contrast

We explore readability and comfort for in-headset text by systematically varying viewing distance, character size, and contrast. User performance and subjective fatigue reveal robust regions where comprehension is high and strain is low, alongside configurations that degrade legibility. We summarize practical parameter ranges to guide UI typography in VR applications.
